Book Review ~ Suffer the Children by Craig DiLouie

A parasite named Herod has killed all of the children in the world. No warning, no illness, no explanation, they just drop dead. Days later they are miraculously resurrected and they are hungry - for blood.
Suffer the Children is a very different approach to vampirism. This story takes a look at the lengths parents will go to for their children to keep them alive no matter what. It also explores the desperation, the heartache and the gruesome reality that the world will never be the same again.
The story was, well, just downright creepy. The concept was very different from anything that I have ever read before. The author's imagination and creativity really drew me into the story and I found myself desperately turning each page hoping that somehow the story would not end tragically. If you are looking for a story about sexy vampires or one with a happy ending, you will not find it here. Nope, not going to happen. With this one you get little kids who love blood mixed with morbid and gory details. My advice to readers, is simple. Do NOT read before falling asleep. This one WILL cause horrific nightmares.
